As a musician and producer, I am constantly scanning the internet for new music;searching for that one band that can be added to your mantle of immortal artists, that specific crunch of a guitar or new crazy rhythm. I am also registering recording and production ideas whilst I sift through the endless amount of music that is currently available on the internet. I find it very useful to step outside of your comfortable genre and find merit in different types of music, particularly if you are a music creative.

In my most recent surf of the music ocean I came across possibly the heaviest bass tone ever recorded and one of my new favourite stoner/sludge/rock bands. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of every song I've heard, but there are some special moments in both tone, sound placement, and overall production. The artist is "Weedeater"; a three piece from North Carolina in the US. The band describes themselves as "weed metal", which fits in well with the bands image and branding, but I think a more apt description would be something along the lines of "monsterous cacophony that is prone to psychotic episodes". Needless to say, I'm completely hooked.

The fuzz tones in this song are especially epic: Potbelly - from the album Sixteen Stone
