Encores All Round!!!
Boom!!! The first official "Ruffnutt Productions Presents"
live show at the Tatts was a major success.
What a night it was; Jordan Merrick made the trek down from Brisbane, leaving his counterparts from "Fugitive and the Vagabond" to play a mesmerising solo performance of his signature alt-folk songs. Jordan is a story teller and his songwriting ability left the crowd spellbound and cheering for more.
If you missed Saturday's show, fear not as Jordan has promised to return to the Backroom later in the year, so look out for that one!!!
After a short break we turned things up to eleven and welcomed Gold Coast indie rock legends The Goldhearts to the stage. The girls (and Daren) proceeded to deliver a killer set of grunge laden indie pop that again had the crowd begging for more!!!
The Goldhearts themselves had a blast and have also vowed to return to the Tatts later in the year, so all of you fine Lismore people that missed the performance on Saturday will have another chance to catch the girls (and Daren) do their thing.
After another short intermission; local super-duo Running Left Handed took to the stage, and after a shakey start (Jimmy broke a string in the first song, and Wig temporarily lost sound early on), the guys produced another one of their quirky, acoustic performances for a Backroom crowd that had already been primed and was completely in the moment, thanks to the previous two acts. Running Left Handed was left to put the icing on the cake so to speak, and the guys delivered as they plowed through a high energy set filled with their usual
weirdness and blues/punk/rock, or as they like to put it;"raw, fuzzy, acoustic juice". Again the Backroom audience cheered for more; encores all round!!!
This was Ruffnutt Productions first effort at putting together a show for the Tatts Hotel Backroom, and we are super excited with the response from both artists and punters. If you were one of the lucky ones to be at this show, then you know what we're talking about, and for those of you that missed it please stop kicking yourself in the arse as there will be more Ruffnutt shows at the Backroom in the coming months, and we will endeavour to make all our shows as cool and engaging as this one was.
